lights blinking like UFO 200 1992

All the lights (except headlamps) including dash lights on my 240GL suddenly just started flashing rhythmically while it was parked in my driveway engine off. Ignition switch is disabled. Acts like an antitheft system without the horn honking. Far as I know there is no antitheft system on the car. Very strange. Help! Local dealer is a pirate and I don't want to go there.
