Questions about the 240 Turbo series 200

Hey guys,
Well I've reached my midlife crisis at age 21 haha...My longtime girlfriend (Who originally got me into 240s) and I broke up a couple of weeks ago, and I want a 242 now. My question is that are the 242s going to need constant upkeeping? (Meaning will I be out in the driveway every weekend fixing something on the car.) Or if I spend the extra money instead of spending like $1000 on a 242 that needs a little bit of work, will I get an almost "worry-free" (I use that term loosely) car? I'd like to get a 242 that has no rust, and is pretty good mechanicallywise. I figure if I spend like...$1800 on a 242 like this, I can overhaul the turbo, replace the camshaft , wiring harness, etc. Is this idea of mine reasonable? Or am I going to be spending more? I'm going to sell my '91 as well for around $1800 hopefully since I've had it for the past year and besides the fuel sender unit, it's in immaculate condition. I can't keep it anymore because my ex had the same exact kind of car, and she convinced me to buy it, and she drove it all the time...ehh I'm a sentimental type of person haha...It's gonna be a few months before I can scrounge up enough money to get one, but I'm just curious to see some of you guys' reactions to this. Thanks!
