Any tips for taking of an M46 without a tranny jack? 200

Last time I attempted this was with an M41, and it was easier because you could leave the bellhousing on the engine. When I did that I got under the tranny and wiggled it out of the bellhousing and let it drop on my chest. I remember being sort of pinned down by it, but I managed to roll it off.

I am little older and wiser now and wondering if this is the best way to do it.
