No start at all 700

I have the 1988 765 gle b280e v6 waggon.It developed a problem where it would lose power and die after 10 mins running,then start again after 1 hour(for another 10 mins).Now it will not start at all.There is spark at the plugs,both fuel pumps are running,a strong smell of fuel from the exhaust.Any ideas?Thanks.
