Hello folks. Well, I converted my '90 wagon with 60K, over to r134a this weekend. Removed the compressor, changed the oil, new o-rings, dryer/receiver. Here's the problem, there's not enough room at the back of the compressor where the fittings/hook-ups are to get the r134a couplers/hook-ups on my gauge-set to fit. There's not enough clearance between the housing on the compressor and the low-side opening on the compressor to fit the hub of 134a line from my gauges. Does this make sense? Please help me. I expected this job to be straightforward , why is it not? Have other encountered this problem? There's no other low-side hook-up on the car, am I right? The old R12 hook-ups were a smaller diameter hub and so there wasn't an issue of clearance. I know that I'm not the only guy/gal to convert a '90 240 wagon from R12 to 134a on this forum.....please help....please.
Thanks
Ben Costello
