I understand about gas turning to varnish. That would be bad. This '83 245GL has been sitting for a long time, approximately 1 to 2 years, maybe a bit longer. Not sure and my new senior status means I get senior moments. I, I, I jes don't recall how long it has been sitting. I put gas in it then, whenever then was. Anyway, I am getting it fixed up for my soon to be 16 year old daughter to drive and once I get the wiring straightened out under the instrument panel I will hook the alternator up, the battery up, and try starting the thing. I rebuilt the engine and and rewired everything with a new harness up front, and that was way back in ... whenever. OK, my question. Should I pump the old gas out of the tank or put an additive in there and crank it up? I would rather just try the old gas instead of pumping it out, but ... .
