Electrical gremlins... 200 1993

My son told me yesterday that the only way he could put the car in drive
was to press "override" first. This is how he drove home. Later we noticed that A/C compressor no longer works, and also the power windows appear to be dead.
I'm trying to see what the common thread is here. Do all these things perhaps share ground connection ? What should I look at ?
