tendancy to faster idle speeds when coming to stops? 120-130

Recently my old trusty steed has started to exhibit an interesting symptom which I've been a little too lazy to track down.

When I dissengage the clutch when coasting to a stop in town, the idle is now tending to "stick" at the speed at which it was dissengaged. I have found that I can come to a stop, then shift into first, and lightly nudge it forward it drops back to normal idle speed.

So I'm wondering what the most likely general area the culprit for this behavior lies? Spin-dizzy or the carbs? It seems like the return springs are strong enough on the carbs? Perhaps the centrifugal weights in the distro are sticking?
