Don't forget to check the timing belt! 200

Last evening at about 5:30PM EST, I got a call from my wife telling me that the 86 245 had suddenly cut off in rush hour traffic and stranded her and my 12 year old daughter. I listened to her crank the car over the cell phone and knew that the timing belt had broken (actually lost a few teeth around the crank sprocket). We had it roll backed to the house and I replaced it with no major incidents.

The point being that I missed the interval that the preventive maintenance should have been done and suffered the consequences.

Regards,
