Hello To All,

It has been a while since I have been here but it is good to be back in the swing of things. With the purchase of a condo at the begining of this year I have been busy with work, commute and of course working on the Volvo's in my new 2-car garage :-) .

I have a new edition to my Volvo line-up, a 1987 Volvo 245DL with 175K+. Car runs great after a co-worker replaced the engine wiring harness, intake manifold gasket, throttle body cleaned out and idle adjusted. He ended up giving the car to his son who in turn bought himself a used Honda Civic so I ended up with the car for $525. Good price for a Southern CA 245DL with a lot of life left in the B230F. Little by little I am upgrading the car inside and out.

Problem:
One thing has been bugging me after I start the car up is that the Alternator Light stays on unitl I rev the engine past 2,000RPM's. After that the alternator light does not come on no matter what I turn on or off. The same thing will happen again the next time I turn on the car... and so on.

My best guess is that the bushings on the alternator's voltage regulator are worn thus a NEW Voltage Regulator is what I need. The alternator belts are in good conditon, the alternator bushings are not soft and the pulley in aligned with the crankshaft and the battery is a Die Hard International less that two years old.

Any ideas as to what the solution to my little problem can be would be great. I am sure someone out there has come across this problem before but I can not remember what the solution was since it has been a long time since I have been on the Brickboard. Thanks to everyone for thier time.
