Everyone morning my 240 auto stays in first. After it gets warm it generally goes thru all gears OK except first! However it will drop back to first if you manually select L. The indie recommended transmission shop wanted $3000+ TO START rebuilding so I drove it out of there. My brother says just try a little Marvel Mystery Oil to ungunk things a little. My plan is to run it until further failure and then grab a replacement from the junk yard, which might be a roll of the dice. (and have them also install it since I don't want to tackle the job). I think there are free lance "workers" in the junk yards in southern SD County pick and pulls that will do that.

Any advise/suggestions?
