At various speeds, my 960 has this shaking problem while braking. Some while back, when it first started, I thought it was wheel balance problem. However, it only happens while braking, and not all the time. Most of the time, when this shaking happens is around 60-70 mph, but it has happened at any speeds above 10 mph.
This have been going on progressively worse, since approximately 2 weeks after purchasing this 960. Yesterday, I purchased some new tires. The same size which was on it when I purchased it. 215/55/16. They are only slightly larger than the stock size 205/55/16.
I am now curious whether this size is just too big? While the wheels were off I rechecked the condition of the pads I just put on after I noticed the shaking. Rotors, pads, and lines are still in great shape.
My suspension could use replacing. The creaking from the strut mounts has been annoying ever since buying this car. Any suggestions, re-do brakes, replace suspension (it dips while braking), or bushings, please help?
BTW, since replacing new tires yesterday, shaking is about 50% smoother, but still occurs.
