Tailgate Rewiring Project 200 1992

Hi Everyone,

I know this is a recurring topic, but had a couple questions. I have the common problem with the broken wires in our 1992 240 Wagon. I'm not much of a car guy and have been looking around my town for a mechanic to get it fixed, but not having much luck. Last guy I just spoke to wanted me to make an appointment just so he could look at it. Not sure why he couldn't step into the parking lot and take a look. Anyway....at this point I'm thinking of just doing the rewiring approach that bypasses the harness ( http://www.vclassics.com/archive/tailgate.htm )

Has anyone had problems with this approach? Are there any other approaches that I haven't seen on here...maybe something not too complicated that I could do myself? I searched the archives, but wouldn't be surprised if I missed some useful info. Thanks in advance...

Jeff
