I spent the entire day doing maintance things to my '86 sedan and one of them was to replace the waterpump with a new Hepu unit. All went well on installation, but after filling with new coolant, I found it had a leak from the back of the pump where the small rubber "O" ring attaches to the red pipe going towards the rear of the engine. I was very careful in making sure the "O" ring was not distorted or bunching up as it went into the back of the waterpump and the little nut and bolt that draws it all tight is nice and snug. Am I going to have to dismantle everything again, get a new gasket and "O" ring and do it all over again? It drips when just sitting there, but when the engine is reveved up a little, it leaks at a good rate from that pipe connection.
Please someone give some good news so I don't have to spend father's day under the car.......
P.S. I've called everywhere this morning already, and only one place has the paper gasket, but no one has the rubber seals....not even the Volvo dealer. They wouldn't be able to get them until Wednesday........bummer.
Thanks.
