Hi everyone,
Several years ago... around 1997/1998 my mom hit a deer in what is now my '93 945. We both were wondering the other day why the airbags didn't deploy. We hit a big buck going at least 45MPH. The entire front end was crunched from it. The grill, both headlights, front trim headlight pieces, and the hood were ruined. The deer started to roll up onto the hood towards the window, but luckily went off an edge.
This seems kind of odd that they didn't deploy to me. I have read reports of them being extremely sensative and deploying for 1) No reason at all and 2) Rear ending someone in traffic going less than 10MPH. No one was hurt as a result of them not deploying. Just curious as to why they didn't deploy.
