Thanks for the info.
I swapped out the large broken clock with a tachometer and small clock from a junkyard car today without any trouble. Sure like having the tach!
While I was at the junkyard I also found a 83 turbo wagon that had the 3 gauge combo in the upper slot - so I grabbed it too along with the wiring. It has a voltmeter, a turbo guage and a 5 bar oil pressure guage. The oil pressure sending unit was gone so I guess I'll have to keep looking for one of them. I doesn't look like my 87 244 DL has the harness to attach the voltmeter and oil pressure guage though, so I guess I'll have to run new wires for them. Has anyone added these guages to their car? Where would the best place to run the voltmeter to be? Also, since my car isn't a turbo I'll have to look for another guage option to fill the slot with - what other gauge options were available? I'll have to start watching for them!
My car had a radio in the top slot, although it was an aftermarket unit that had been very poorly installed by the prior owner. Almost all of the wires had been cut above the square connector and poorly taped back together - no wonder it wouldn't work. Does anybody have a wiring diagram that identifies the wires in the square connector?
Thanks again for the help!
