mass air flow meter 1993 960

I need to replace my mass air flow meter. Do these units require adjustments or calibration or do you just install them right out of the box? That would appear to be the case as there are no visible adjustment or setting points however I recall seeing an earlier thread that discusses bench calibration of these units.
