INTERMITTENT START - BATTERY VOLTAGE PROBLEM? 900 1993

I have written about this problem in the past and I have read most if not all of the FAQ’s. Over the past year I have replaced the RPM Sensor, repaired the Radio suppression relay, substituted a junkyard air mass meter, had the fuel injectors cleaned and calibrated. The only fault code I get 1-2-1 which is air mass meter. It still has moments when it does not start immediately. Today I tried a cold start in the afternoon just to move it into the driveway and it failed to start, Removed air mass meter connector and it started after several attempts. Replaced Air mass meter connector and it wouldn’t start. Waited a few minutes and it started. Now, here’s the new info. I was checking the battery voltage very closely because I think the battery is going south I charged it all day yesterday and the voltage only gOT to 12.29. then when it is cranking, the voltage goes to 10. It cranks and cranks and cranks even with this low voltage. However, the thought occurred to me that the low voltage could affect the electronics. I had an experience with my ’89 525 BMW wherein the low voltage of a failing battery caused some mysterious electronic problems in the instrument panel. Has anyone noticed a correlation between low battery voltage and hard starting (even though it still cranks)?
