Hi
I have a 1990 volvo 240 DL M47 with 210K miles on it. I was going through the 700-900 FAQ on brickborad . It describes in detail the procedure one should follow to clean the injectors. Now I do not know any shop nearby which does the injector flush , So two possibilities emerge in my mind. Put the injector cleaner in the fuel tank when it contains only 1-2 gallons of gasoline and then run the car for few miles so that this solution is used up (This super concentrated solution might clean the injectors) . Another option which I see is this
1. If I disconnect the fuel pump (Fuse #1).
2. Run the engine till it dies So that all fuel is consumed up
3. Connect the high pressure line (Is it the smaller dia pipe ?) at the injector rail to any comparable sized hose
4. Put the other end of hose in Injector cleaner and run the car till all the cleaner is consumed
Actually another procedure is given for cleaning combustion chamber deposits but it asks to put injector cleaner in any of the vaccum hoses above throttle body . So I just thought of this variation.
What are your suggestions . I am just a novice and want to run through you guys before acting on it.
Regards
Gopesh
