odometer works, speedo doesn't ??? and how do you get the instrument panel out? 700

my odometer works, abs works, and the speedo is intermittent. everything else in the panel works fine. I did the clean the connector on the rear axle and also replaced the wires for the first 6 inches or so. no effect.

I looked in FAQ about removing the instrument cluster and it must be for a different car. mine's a 91 745T, there are two small rectangular holes on the left and right, but no screw behind them. is there a clip there or something?

any help is appreciated....
