A coworker has a dead 85 240DL...
I got it started and we noticed complete failure of the strut spring seat. VLVWORLD sells an OEM repair kit.
FCP has a scantech version.
Avoid scantech as usual here?

Has anyone done this, I'd like a little reassurance before I tackle it.
