88' 240 problem oil leak from top engine cap 200

so my mechanic said it was the "pcv valve" aka flame trap correct?
i dont know what im doing so im asking for help
he said the pcv valve is clog due to the lack of care it had from previous owner
im really worried cause the oil is starting to come out more n more
so if anyone has any idea on this
please post
im getting a few books on the flametrap/pcv value
also tell me what parts i need
