Crank case pressure, vaccum leak, cruise control, all related? What to do first...? 900

Hello,
I've been asking a lot and fixing little due to time constraints but tomorrow I need to tear this engine apart and get some things fixed. I have the following symptoms:
1) High crank case pressure (evidenced by multiple oil leaks and oil coming out of oil cap)
2) Vaccum leaks (evidenced by heater/cooler vents changing when accelerating and cruise control not working)

Is there a connection between these two? Is it possible that low vaccum is causing a lack of crank case pressure relief? My flame trap/pcv is clean (I just replaced it) but I haven't removed the intake manifold to get down to the breather box yet. I THINK (last time I checked) there is vaccum going from the brass niple to the flame trap little nipple.

Where should I check first for relief of crank case pressure?

Also, Any advice on removing the intake manifold? When I replaced my head gastket (two months ago), I was able to pull it out of the way of the head but I found it hard to remove even after removing the lower bolt and the intake tubing. It felt like something serious was still restricting me from moving it.

Thanks a lot,
Rick
