I have a 93 Volvo 240 w/B230. Sitting in the drive, I found it cranks; but, wouldn't start the other day. I found the camshaft wasn't turning so I suspected the timing belt. Sure enough, all the teeth on the belt were gone where it wraps around the crankshaft gear. I also found the camshaft will not budge.
I pulled the valve cover off and the camshaft looks okay. I haven't disturbed the caps yet. Looking for suggestions.
Might replacing the camshaft bearings be all it needs?
Is the camshaft known to seize on the 240?
I got it from my sister 2 years ago. The odometer quit at 186K just after I started driving it 1 1/2 years ago ... 60000 miles? I am trying to determine how and if I wish to proced to revive her.
