What shock absorbers for 142? 140-160

Hi all,
I have a 1973 142 that I use for TSD rallies in Australia. Also some light track work. I'm currently running standard shock absorbers, which most definitely need updating. FYI, the car is lowered about 1", has LSD and running fairly sticky road tyres on 6" x 15" alloys. I'm also running poly bushes everywhere.
I know Bilsteins are great and did plan on using them all around, but I have been told that they are too stiff for the rear end. Does anyone have any advice for me?

Regards

JohnH
