Hey there, All.
I passed on the moaning 1997 960 and now have my eye back on a 1994 960 with 125,000 miles.
Very clean in and out, starts right up, ac seems fine, clear oil, clear anti feeze, runs alittle rough & has been sitting for a while - warning light on indicates low fuel in tank.
Seller's mechanic is going to check out rough idle.
Not a drip of a drop under or around engine, dry as a bone.
I was planning on taking it to my mechanic who worked on my 940 (R.I.P.) to put it up on rack and check it out. Basic look over, I guess. $65.00
I spoke to an independent Volvo mechanic who said he'd run codes and check out "everything". This option is $135.00
I can see by smog test read outs here in California some indicators to problems.
"Run the codes" for the extra $?
What are heads ups?
I maintained my 940 mostly myself and have an idea what to look for. I was thinking of bringing it home to check brakes but not sure if there's some major complications I should be looking out for.
Elec. chassis etc.
Any thoughts appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Enjoying the ride...
