OH NO, Not the Blower Motor 200 1993

Hello Everyone,

I have every writeup and picture diary available including Art Benstein's wonderful pictoral essay on his blower removal project and Dave Shannon's dash removal guide.

I would like to do this once per car and hopefully have it last for the 13 years that the previous motor lasted. I'm not really interested in a "holesaw" lube job.

The question I have is what experience have you had with the available motors? I recently purchased an NOS Siemens off e-bay and it seems a bit noisy. So I'm a little concerned about the motor that I use. I should note that there was a little rust on unpainted areas of the outer casing.

One of the vendors indicated that the Unimotor brand that they sell is manufactured at the same Mexican factory that Siemen's made their units, cause Unimotor bought out Siemens. What's your take on this? Should I purchase a genuine Volvo unit?

Any input that you may have on this subject will be greatly appreciated. Thanks much for sharing your knowledge.
