OIL LEAK, REAR MAIN SEAL? 200 1991

I have a 91' 240 with 120 k miles. The car has been parked for a year. I started up the car today and moved it to my driveway where I could work on it. It ran for about ten minutes. After about an hour I noticed a puddle of oil on the drive dripping from the bell housing. By the time I noticed it the dripping had stopped. I moved the car later and the same thing happened. It didn't have this problem when I parked it a year ago.
Could the rear seal have failed from sitting? Could it re-seal itself with use? Thanks.
