Tachometer not working, what to check? 200 1989

I just bought a 1989 240 sedan and the tachometer doesn't work. It doesn't move at all, just stays on zero.

I believe the car has the later rpm sensor as there are no wires coming out of the distributor except for the spark plug leads ofcourse.

The car starts and runs fine otherwise.

Could it just be a loose connection? Just wondering what I should check?
