The car has 200K on it. The noises started on my way home from work friday. It has been very hot here. I came to a stop light, pushed in the clutch, and heard some funny grinding noises, not really loud, but I could feel the vibration in the shifter. I shifted into neutral and the noises still persisted. I shifted back into first and they stopped. From the light, the 1-2 shift had the noise when I depressed the clutch, and then it stopped when I was under way. Next day, the noise showed up in reverse. I changed the fluid in the tranny today and it seemed to be a little better. It doesn't make the noise all of the time and so far not ever in the 3-4 or 4-5 upshifts, only in the lower gears.
