AMM needed ? 900 1995

I have a 960 wagon ( 165K) that has developed a rough idle when cold.

the car starts fine but after 3 seconds it goes into a loopy idle and fluctuates until it warms up. I can keep it running by giving it enough gas to keep the rpms above 1500. after it is warm it idles fine but it seems to be slow to respond in acceleration.

I have replaced the IAC with a know good unit and that didn't help.
the intake tube between the AMM and throttle body has a rip so I replaced that.
also replaced the flame trap while I had it apart.

when the car is cold I can pull the AMM connector and it starts and runs fine.
after it warms up I can pull the AMM connector and start it and it runs fine.

this car has a AMM # 028 021 3025 so there aren't a lot of cheap replacements available to try a swap.

is the only next logical step to replace the AMM ?
