Rear brake caliper question... 200 1988

While doing a pad repalcement on said caliper, I found that the outer piston was stuck. It took considerable force to get it back into its cylinder, and even then it did not go in all the way.

To keep the car in service I installed a new pad on the inner side, but a new pad was too thick to fit into the outer. I had a used pad that still had most of the groove showing which I installed.

The car rolls with less drag now, but some braking power is lost, so I am assuming that the outer piston is not moving at all.

My question is whether or not to use a caliper off a junker, or get a reman unit from _(fpc or who?)_____.

What is the chance that a caliper off a junker would be just as bad?
They are available but not tested.

Your experience and advice will be appreciated.

Thank you,

Bob
