I made an answer to another post with this info, but I thought it might be info others could use.
I was messing with my instrument cluster on my 760 - had it out. When I put it back in, started the car - all seemed well to start. I drove out of the drive and almost hit a car in the back as it would hardly stop at all - very hard pedal. It was if the master cylinder was not working. The ABS light then came on. I drove on - the brakes seemed to then be OK, light still on. I stopped, re-cranked the car - the light went off, but came on again a few miles down the road. With this my speedo went nuts and finally quit.
Later back home I pulled the cluster back out, cleaned some contacts - and put it back in carefully. All is back to good.
What surprised me was some contacts on the back of the cluster - apparently not making good contact - and having so much effect on the brakes.
