Removal of control arm, tools to make the job doable? 700

You all did so great with the pitman arm comment, I have another question.

In removing the control arm end, I cannot seem to be able to hold the steel rod still while I wrench off the control arm end. I seem to end up turning this rod which will lead to damage to the rack if I continue. Last time I had to bring it too a shop too remove. If anyone has a good way to hold it I'm open, I even have access to a lift it that would help.

If I could do all that, then I can complete the front end and just pay the $60 for the alingment (the alignment shop will not do any other front end work).

Thanks for the pitman comments, and any help you can give.

Eric
