Lights and signals failed ... then started working ???? 900

One of my cars is a 1996 960 sedan. This is the car my wife usually drives. At one point yesterday the turn signals and headlights stopped working completly. I don't know if other lights such as the brake lights also stopped working as she was driving and was unable to determine this when the problem occured. By the time she got home all the lights were working fine. Since they are working fine now I wouldn't figure it was just a fuse or something. Any ideas of what I should check?
