760T - weird no-power problem 700 1986

Hello fellas,

My '86 760 (B230FT) started really acting weird the other day.

It runs fine if I drive it super easy. Starts fine, idles fine.

If I really push the gas pedal it works awful. The turbo boost gauge shows it's making lots of boost, but the longer/harder I push on the accel the more it drops off and the less power the engine makes. I can't drive it on the highway at all, as everytime I try to accelerate it just loses power too bad.

If I let up on the accel for a second, it straightens out and I can drive it again until I ask it for some power. This is the case regardless of what speed I've got the car up to.

I'm looking for ideas.

I've already swapped the AMM and it didn't make any difference at all.

I'm going to go get some propane to test the vaccuum/intake lines out this evening.

I've printed of the FAQ sections on how to test out my knock sensor, so I'll do that as soon as I can get to it as well.

I've got about 50,000 kms on the fuel filter and air filter and plugs.

I'll be sure to let everyone know what I find out as I go along here, but some help about what to look for/into would be a great help.

Thanks in advance.

-Joel
