Dear Fellow Brickboarders,
May this find you well. I usually post on the 900 series. This question involves my effort to help a nephew, who has a '90 760. I got for him, from a salvage yard, two powered seats, for his 760.
These seats' switches are dead. I suspect the relays have failed.
Does anyone know:
(a) if it is possible - and if so, how - to open up the 760 seat switch, to access the relays? I've re-flowed the solder on the circuit board, but the switch is still dead.
(b) if it is possible - and if so, how - to supply power directly to the seat motors.
I need to get power to the seat motors, to bring the seats into a full, uprtihgt position, so that I can box them for shipping.
I have a portable, 12-volt source. I need to know, to which pairs of wires, I need to connect the black (ground) and red (hot), to get the motors to move. Please be over-specific. I'd far rather get more detailed directions, than to get directions, which presuppose knowledge, that I don't have.
Thus, if there's a point on the seat motor, to which a wire can or should be attached, please give me precise guidance as to where is that attachment point.
Thanks a bunch for your help.
Yours faithfully,
spook
