Broken radio antenna....again! 200 1993

Sigh....wife has backed up into the bouganvillia again!! This is the 3rd antenna she has broken off the rear mounted 245 design. But this time it was not the mast but the mounting, threaded end of the wire that broke off this time. Do I have to get the $41 kit from FCPGroton or is there something from the 'Peppy Adolescents' store that I can adapt??
