'91 740 Brake lines & hoses - how to remove w/o destroying them? Heat? 700 1991

Hello Fellow Boarders,

My '91 740 wagon - no ABS, 2 hoses per Girling caliper, 11"+ rotors - needs new FRONT calipers (actualy just needs new caliper brackets and pin kit, but will replace calipers, too). I have little experience with 740 brakes (140 4-piston brakes are my fav). This great car has 198k on it - purrs, as you would expect.

My issue: I have not yet been able to remove the old calipers from the hoses/lines.

When I try to remove at the caliper, the whole hose turns and curls up like a snake (which can not be good for it).

Haynes says to remove the hoses at the inner fender where they meet the hard lines. Despite liberal shots of PBlaster and a good set of brake line wrenches,
they won't budge - I am starting to round the nuts slightly and don't want to ruin the lines & hoses and replace w/ new (unles that's the way to go after almost 200k)

My questions:
Should I remove hoses at the caliper or at the hard line?
Should I use heat? Sounds dangerous.
Should I use heavy equipment (vise grips?)
"Just" cut them and replace? (I'd still have to cleanly remove old fittings at some point)

Any help is greatly appreciated!
Roll on.
