This is my first post to any Volvo forum. I am buying a one owner car from a doctor who lives up the street. It was bought new here in Los Angeles. It seems to be a reluctant sale for him. Recently tuned-up and with just under 130K miles. The engine I believe is the B230FD with EGR emission control.

We are looking to take the car down to one of the swedish garages or to my wife's uncle's garages tomorrow. I will at that time request the maintenance records and service receipts. Am also going to do a smog history check on the plates and perhaps check the VIN.

I have been reading thru all the material here as it pertains to me so far. Was wondering if this seems like a good deal for $3,000. The front seats have some slight cracks and maybe a seam undone. The dash looks crack free. The interior is clean. The exterior has no body work. The front bumper is loose on one side and passenger signal light lens is broken. drivers side morror is cracked. both pass. side doors have little dings in them (parking lot stuff). front bumper has a scuff on the opposite side of the broken lamp lens. All in all it looks great cosmetically. Will report my mechanical findings soon. Please let me know if there is anything I should look for. I will be checking both the product plate and service label as well as real exle and rear suspension.
