Hey Guys-
It's a '93 960 Wagon with the 2.9L I-6 engine, 150k miles
I recently had valve woes, had them fixed and in the process developed vacuum and exhaust woes.
The vacuum was a faulty brake booster hose and the exhaust was caused by excessive rust near the rear manifold/pipe interface.
I drove around for a week or so with the leaky exhaust. The car ran fine, but I could tell that it needed that fixed. I took the pipes apart and really cleaned it up and used 'fireseal' to mate them... yes, I realize I will now have to cut and replace both manifold and catalytic pipe for any repair... but they were too far gone anyway..
Anyway- After successfully fixing the leak, I've noticed that the idle just isn't all that great.... It seems to struggle, not too bad mind you, but enough to cause me to think that it *may* stall out on me. It drives just fine.
The FAQ mentions cleaning the throttle body is common to help idle problems. However I don't know if my engine has a throttle body... The whole intake is this alien looking ball thing.
What else can I look for?
Thanks
-Jim P
