Bleeding Brakes 200 1986

Well this post may seem a bit redundant considering i'm sure everyones just going to tell me to re-bleed the brakes, but here goes. I actually wanted to post this not only because i just replaced the front rotors and calipers but to also clear up a debate i've heard. The question is whether you can get away with only bleeding the specific calipers that you replace. i.e. I just did my gfriends rear calipers and only bled them and everything worked fine. However i just did the front calipers on my car, both 240 sedans and it didn't work. the brake pedal goes down and down and the failure light comes on. Well I'm pretty darn sure i put everything together right and didn't tighten too hard, i made sure the master cylinder didn't run out of fluid... etc..
SO , :)I guess my question is whether you have to bleed all the calipers when doing any bit of the system, or if you can get away with it...(which i apparently didn't)
