Dana 30 Ring & Pinion 3.91 120-130

I have a 122s that was a automatic now a m40 tranny manual. I think the revs are high becuase of hte rear end when cruising. Does a change in ring and pinion help this problem from the standard to a Dana 30 Ring & Pinion 3.91
