Just took the new to me 93 on its first family vacation, and within an hour the "check engine" light came on. I didn't have my Bentley so I just kept driving, and it got us back home, after a great weekend.
Its fuel economy is down about 25% so there is definitely something wrong. Other than the gas guzzling the car seems normal. I read the codes tonight and it had 5 codes stored. What puzzles me is that the ECU is only supposed to be able to store 3 at a time. So is Bentley wrong or has my ECU gone wacky.
The codes were: no speed signal, faulty injectors, compensating for rich or lean at idle, compensating for rich/lean at speed, compensating for extremely rich or lean mixture at cruise.
After clearing the codes and starting the car the rich lean codes came back immediatley.
Any ideas where to start? Will a bad AMM do this? It is one of the few LH parts that has not been replaced on this car. It has a used ECU that seemed to be working normally
