I made the mistake of having a coworker move my volvo. He managed to destroy the plastic parts of the shifter which work with the neutral safety switch. I need to bypass the neutral safety switch so I can drive to a shop for repair. I looked under the shifter and got as far as a pie shaped piece of brown plastic with four wires soldered to four separate points. The points were labelled "P", "R", "*" and "50". I was told by another volvo owner that I could jump one of these wires to another to enable the car to start. (Right now I turn the key and all the dummy lights come on, the windows work and the radio works. I am assuming that even though I am in park, the part which allowed the circuit telling the neutral safety switch that I am in park is one which broke, so it does not know I am in park. I am aware of what this switch is for, but need to temporarily bypass it). Can anyone talk me through this, I just want to know which wires to jump. I am rather mechanically impaired. Thanks for any help.
