960 Breather box removal 900

I was cleaning out the flame traps on our both of our '95 960's this past weekend, as both were starting to become clogged. On 1 car the breather box appears clogged as well. The FAQ's it say to pull the alternator for access to replace said breather box. Since alternator access on these cars is rather limited, I was wondering if there is an easier way to pull the breather box from below the car
