Hi, I've been having overheating issues for about half a year now, on my '93 944Turbo; it’s only 54k miles. About 7-8 months ago, the radiator suddenly broke and the current driver didn't notice but after several miles of driving at highway speeds with the temp on the red zone... Guys at Volvo only replaced the radiator. Everything was fine until a couple of months ago when the car began leaking coolant. It turned out to be the water pump, which was also replaced. After that, the car has overheated due to a clog on the water reservoir's return pipe (the thin long hose coming from the radiator) and a couple of times due to a broken heater hose. Finally today, when I thought that my cooling system was almost new, the car broke down (a couple of blocks from my university) and the temp raised actually BEYOND the red mark, and the CHECK ENGINE indicator lit. I immediately stopped the car and had to fill it with a LOT of water, it was totally dry! When the temp went back to normal, I drove to college and once there, the reservoir was already empty. I couldn't see where the water was leaking from, it seemed to be from the lower part of the engine's block. Unfortunately, the coolant reservoir had lots of engine oil residue; I think the headgasket didn't make it this time... The car had to be towed to an independent mechanic which is a friend of mine, as it doesn’t hold water anymore.

I was wondering if you experts could once more give me advice on what to do to finally stop this overheating/cooling issue; what else should I replace? Also, do you have any additional tips (from those on the FAQs) regarding a headgasket replacement on an overheated engine? I have only purchased an elring headgasket, anything else to replace?
