Rear Torque Rods -- Difference Between Early (75-81) and Late (82-93)? 200

Does anyone know the difference between the rear torque/track rods used on the 1975-81 240's and the later style used from 1982-93 ? I notice in parts lists that they take different bushings. I have a 1980, and was wondering if I can swap in the later design on my car. My plan is to pull a pair from the boneyard and at my leisure press out the old bushings and put in poly bushings. This way, with the "new" rods already fitted with the poly bushings it is a simple and swap in/out on my car with very little "down time." There are a lot more later model cars (post 1981)in the yards around here than the earlier ones.

Thanks.

Mike
