heat seats! 200 1989

Alright, i am taking my car to Michigan with me soon and i want to get the heat seats working again. I have pulled the seat apart before and found the thermostat disconnected and so i reconnected it, but now they dont work again, so i opened the seat again and the connection broke again. but i took an ohm meter to the thermostat and was getting complete resistance between the two contacts. is this right? i figured that while cool it would have continuity and when hot it would show resistance. anyone know anything about this? if it is the thermostat, where can i get anotehr one? i dont care if its volvo or not.
