Sadly, I have to sell my precious car.
I own a 1980 tan wagon. I'm the second owner and it has about 139k on it (I bought it in 2002 with just 101k). The car is in EXCELLENT shape. The body is 99% straight with two very minimal dents that have been patched with small circles of primer to prevent rusting.
Minor things that are wrong:
*driver seat upholstery was redone, just on the bottom, and not a great job (done by the dealership where I bought the car. This seat also has a hole about the size of a small fist.
*minor seam tears on the passenger seat.
*no floormats
*missing one hubcap set that I have tried to replace many times, but they always fall off somewhere along the road.
Major thing that is wrong:
*speedometer is not working, but just stopped in May. The odometer now reads 136 something, but I'm fair in assuming that it's really about 139 right now. I have records to show that the speedometer was working previously (jiffy lube, repair receipts, etc.)
We have just put quite a bit of money into the car, and I hate to sell it. The interior, except for the things mentioned, is really impeccable. No animals in the car, and the back bench seat looks nearly new. All the carpet is in great shape. It also has a Cd player and sheepskin seat covers.
Any advice? I live in Portland and am thinking of asking $2600. Any thoughts, or does anybody want to buy it? I need to sell it within a few weeks.
Thanks!
